Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

A federal program designed to supplement the income of those with little or no income. The primary recipients are those who are aged, blind and/or disabled with little to no income. The cash is designed to be used to meet basic needs including food, clothing and shelter.

Speech Therapy

Speech therapy is the assessment and treatment of communication problems and speech disorders.


Schizophrenia is a mental illness that causes people to interpret reality abnormally. It can result in some combination of hallucinations, delusions, and extremely disordered thinking and behavior that impairs daily functioning.

Sacral Cord

The sacral cord is located between the hips, right below the lower back and above the tailbone. It is made up of S-1 through S-5, and the nerves in this region are responsible for the pelvic organs.

Injuries in this region can also result in some loss of function in the hips and legs.

Spinal Cord Injuries

Damage to any part of the spinal cord or nerves at the end of the spinal canal which disrupts the signals between your body and the brain. These injuries occur when a part of the neck or spine is bent or compressed. It can also be due to fractures or dislocations of vertebrae.
